a unique HOPE
"We make a living by what we get.
"We make a life by what we give."
-Sir Winston Churchill.
Equity's unique hope is the belief that we
can make a difference in the world.
Millions of people needlessly die every year
from circumstances that could be prevented. Any consistent effort
will make a difference in the lives of hundreds of people around
the world.
A portion of Equity Real Estate's gross income
(company profit, not agent commission) goes to humanitarian and
charity causes to immunize, feed, educate, establish micro enterprise
that promotes self-sufficiency, bring hope and help stop the millions
of needless deaths around the world.
The definition of the word Equity is "the
act of being just and fair".
We strive to be just and fair to our Realtors, our Clients, and
the World.
| Equity's
own President and CEO, Kye Pope (pictured right), traveled to
Guatemala in September 2010 to contribute "manpower"
to the current efforts to build schools for children. He does
not hesitate to let people know it was possibly the hardest
he has ever worked. He quickly makes clear that although hard,
it's easily one of the best experiences of his life. |

"Guatemala
is still suffering from poverty and violence left over from
their bloody civil war which ended in 1996, leaving nearly 300,000
people dead. 56% of the population lives in severe poverty and
50% of the children suffer from chronic malnutrition. Over 7%
of Guatemalan children will die before their 5th birthday. Just
a little over half the children in Guatemala attend school."
--His Hand for Guatemala Website
"His Hands for Guatemala has established a sponsorship
program through which you can sponsor a child in Guatemala to
help them attend school. $35.00 per month will pay for one of
these beautiful children to attend school. $35.00 per month
will provide them with all their educational materials, TWO
meals each school day as well as basic medical care. The opportunity
to attend school can be life-changing for these children! In
most cases, the children in the program have never had the opportunity
to attend school before!" -- His Hands for Guatemala Website

1923 to assist stranded travelers, the Road Home has grown

We
believe that nurturing and caring for children are the cornerstones
of human progress. UNICEF was created with this purpose in
mind to work with others to overcome the obstacles
that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in
a childs path. We believe that we can, together, advance
the cause of humanity.
We
advocate for measures to give children the best start in life,
because proper care at the youngest age forms the strongest
foundation for a persons future.
We
promote girls education ensuring that they complete
primary education as a minimum because it benefits
all children, both girls and boys. Girls who are educated
grow up to become better thinkers, better citizens, and better
parents to their own children.
We
act so that all children are immunized against common childhood
diseases, and are well nourished, because it is wrong for
a child to suffer or die from a preventable illness.--

"Latter-day Saint Charities
(Humanitarian Services) helps families become self-reliant
by promoting health and disease prevention where health care
resources and education are lacking, by helping with employment
and job training, and by responding to urgent needs brought
on by natural disasters.
When a disaster occurs, Latter-day
Saint Charities sends food, clothing, medical supplies, and
other emergency relief assistance to help victims with urgent
needs. Advance planning, extensive storage of essential items,
and an extensive worldwide network of volunteers, allow a
swift response when disaster strikes. These volunteers, working
cooperatively with other relief agencies, help ensure that
100 percent of all donations are distributed directly to those
in need.
In developing nations, where
poverty and poor living conditions place a great burden on
families, disease can be devastating economically and emotionally
as well as physically. When proper medical facilities are
lacking, diseases that are preventable and treatable can result
in death. Families who practice simple health and sanitation
methods can avoid many diseases and unnecessary suffering.

"Only 700 miles off the
coast of Florida, Haiti is the poorest country in the Western
Hemisphere and the third hungriest country in the world. 80%
of the population lives below the level of absolute poverty.
One out of 8 children will not live to see their 5th birthday."
--His Hands for Haiti Website
"Because of the extreme
poverty in Haiti, and because there is no "free"
education, most parents cannot afford to send their children
to school. His Hands for Haiti has helped to establish a sponsorship
program through which you can sponsor a child in Haiti to
help them attend school. $40.00 (US) TWICE per school YEAR
(September through June), will provide them with a uniform,
an education as well as a hot meal at school (in the schools
that prepare a noon meal). The opportunity to attend school
is life-changing for these children. In some cases, the help
the children receive at the school has saved their lives!"
